Mini: EPIC FREE EDIT CONTEST. AGAIN. (Yes.)

So. You guys. Remember when Cassandra Marshall (@CA_Marshall) had that EPIC FREE EDIT CONTEST a while back, and I posted about it?

Well. She’s doing it AGAIN.

WHAT?! you might say. And I KID YOU NOT, I might say in response. And then I might — nay, I would — direct you to her blog, wherein all instructions lie, waiting for you to read them and response appropriately (as in, by filling out the form and entering the contest because UM this is a fantastic contest).

All you have to do is follow her blog and her Twitter feed, blog about the contest, Tweet about the contest, etc., and each thing you do gets you an entry, and the more entries you have, the more likely you are to WIN. So basically, just give our girl some much-deserved LOVE, mmkay?

Mini: Book Info

This is just a quick update to point out the new page here on the blog. It’s called The Books, and it includes information about, well, the books I’m writing. PROFOUND, NO?

Anyway, I won’t be using code names anymore to talk about the books; I’ll be using the actual working titles.

Also, I started a Tumblr, where I post photos that inspire me in my various writing projects. They’re tagged according to project, so if you want to know more about my stuff, that’s also a good place to go.

Also also, just so this post isn’t completely pointless, I suggest y’all check out some of the writerly blogs on the righthand menu down there. There’s good stuff there, people. Go, go, go!

Mini: Um, EPIC FREE EDIT CONTEST

Just a quick update to the blog to help spread the word about an AWESOME (and although I brazenly use the word AWESOME, this truly IS) contest being held by the great Cassandra Marshall (follow her on Twitter @CA_Marshall and also on her blog).

Not only does freelance editor/literary agent intern Cassandra hold extremely helpful and informative query sessions on Twitter (she tweets her thoughts about queries whilst reading them, i.e., what she’s seeing that she likes and doesn’t like, trends, no-no’s, etc.), but now she is also offering a FREE SUBSTANTIAL EDIT (up to 100K words) for the lucky winner of this AWESOME (yes, AGAIN) contest.

I mean, she’s not going to just read and write you a couple of paragraphs’ worth of, “Hey, you need to work on this.” NO NO. She’s going to take her red pen and SLASH up your manuscript and make you WEEP with joy and despair and gratitude. (Okay, so she didn’t say it quite like that, but I assume that’s what will happen.)

And so, to celebrate the glowing review and for reaching 100 blog followers and 700 twitter followers (that just blows my mind!) I’m giving away a FREE substantial edit! (That’s plot, pacing, character development, etc, up to 100k words) to one lucky reader!

+3 for being a current follower of my twitter
+2 for tweeting about the contest (once per day, include links to actual tweet in your comment)
+5 for blogging about the contest (once per day, include links to actual blog post in your comment)
+1 for asking a question about writing/editing, or something else I can blog about that I haven’t covered already (as many as you can think of!)
All you have to do is leave a comment with your total number of entries!
If you’ll be RTing/blogging everyday, add a new comment every couple of days or once at the end and say that you’re adding it to your tally (include running tally).  Just don’t forget and miss out!
